This Privacy Policy describes how Hoffmann Florida Media Group, LLC (“HFMG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with your use of the Telluride Daily Planet website located at hoffmannmediagroup.com (the “Site”), our mobile or connected experiences, newsletters, and any related services we operate (collectively, the “Services”).

1) Scope & Eligibility
This Policy applies to information we collect about visitors, subscribers, registered users, advertisers, and other Site users in the United States. The Services are intended for individuals age 13 and older. If you are under 13, do not use the Services or submit personal information.

a) Information you provide directly
- Account & profile data: name, email, password, username, photo/avatar, mailing address, subscription preferences.
- Transactions: subscription details, order history, billing/shipping address, last four digits of payment cards (full cards are processed by our payment processors).
- Content & communications: comments, letters to the editor, tips, survey responses, contest entries, emails to our staff, uploaded media.
- Advertising inquiries: company name, role, phone, email, campaign preferences.
b) Information collected automatically
- Device & usage: IP address, device identifiers, browser type/version, operating system, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, session length, approximate location (from IP), and similar usage data.
- Cookies & similar tech: cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, and web beacons to remember settings, analyze traffic, and personalize/measure ads. See Cookies below.
c) Information from third parties
- Analytics & ad partners (e.g., analytics platforms, ad exchanges, social networks).
- Single sign-on (if enabled): information per your settings with the provider.
- Lead/marketing partners and payment processors (limited payment metadata).
3) How We Use Information
We use information to:

6) Disclosures of Information
We disclose information to:
- Service providers/Processors: hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, delivery, email/SMS, security, ad tech, and marketing vendors under contracts that limit use.
- Advertising & analytics partners: to support targeted ads and measurement (subject to opt-out rights).
- Business transfers: during mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales.
- Legal & safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce terms, protect rights, safety, and security.
- With your direction or consent: e.g., publishing comments/letters with your name as submitted.
We do not sell personal information for money. We may “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in certain state laws when we enable cross-context behavioral advertising. See Your Privacy Rights below for opt-out.
7) Data Retention
We keep personal information as long as necessary for the purposes in this Policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data category and our business/legal needs.
8) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is 100% secure. Please use strong passwords and keep them confidential.
9) Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it as required by law.
10) Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data and access it.
- Correct inaccuracies.
- Delete personal data.
- Data portability (obtain a copy in a portable format).
- Opt out of: (i) targeted advertising; (ii) the sale of personal data; and (iii) certain profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
How to exercise: use the Privacy Choices link in the footer or email [email protected] with “Privacy Request” and specify your request. We may need to verify your identity.
Appeals: If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email with “Appeal” in the subject. If your appeal is denied, you can contact the Florida Attorney General.
B. California residents (CPRA/CCPA)
You may have the right to:
- Know/access categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and third-party disclosures.
- Request deletion and correction.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (including for cross-context behavioral ads).
- Limit use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (we do not use SPI to infer characteristics).
- Non-discrimination for exercising rights.

C. Other U.S. states
Residents of Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with privacy laws may have similar rights. Please use the same request methods; we will comply as required by applicable law.
11) Do Not Track
Your browser may send “Do Not Track” signals. We do not respond to DNT signals. We do respond to Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required.
12) Email, SMS & Push Preferences
You can opt out of marketing emails by using the “unsubscribe” link in our emails. For SMS or push notifications, use device or message settings. We may still send transactional or service messages (e.g., account notices, receipts).
13) Payment Processing
Subscriptions and purchases may be processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers. Your use of a processor is subject to its privacy policy and terms.
14) International Users
Our Services are operated in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. where laws may differ from those in your country.
15) Third-Party Links & Services
The Services may include links to third-party sites, apps, or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies carefully; we are not responsible for third-party practices.
16) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Policy.

18) State-Specific Disclosures (California Summary)
Categories collected (past 12 months): identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet/usage data, geolocation (coarse), inferences for personalization; we do not collect precise geolocation, biometric, or health data through the Site.

Business/Commercial purposes: as described in Sections 3–5.
